Page setup defines how the document after its output to printing will look. Setup options of these parameters are practically in each program in which work with the printer is provided. However not each of programs allows to save these settings together with the document as it does, for example, the Microsoft Word word-processor.
Instruction
1. Open the document for which it is necessary to set parameters of pages. For a detailed marking of pages it is not obligatory to use at all that program in which the document was created. For example, the files saved in a standard Notepad of Windows without problems will open the Microsoft Word word-processor.
2. Find the section relating to settings of printing options in the menu of the program. For example, in Microsoft Word 2007 it is necessary to go to the Page Marking tab where the group of commands which and is called - "Page setup" is placed. In the NoteTab text editor the access to the corresponding settings can be got through the section File in the menu, having clicked the Page Setup point. Some programs have no own tools for setup of these parameters, and use the driver of the printer. In this case it is necessary to click the keyboard shortcut of sending the document for printing (CTRL + N) and will open after that a window of the choice of the printer in which there will be also a button opening access to settings of page setup.
3. Set the necessary values of parameters of placement of the document on pages. For example, in Microsoft Word 2007, opening drop-down lists on buttons of "Field", "Orientation", "Size", "Columns" you can select the necessary values of indents between the text and edge of printed page, book or landscape orientation of pages, one of standard formats of sheets, printing of the text in quantity of columns necessary to you. If there is no value suitable you, then at the end of each drop-down list (except orientation of pages) there is point, click on which the window of more detailed settings opens.
4. In other editors a set of settings can differ. For example, in the editor of NoteTab it is in addition possible to set still replacement of the font used in the original document. And if the program for installation of parameters uses the driver of the printer, then there will be an opportunity to set proportional change of page sizes as a percentage.
