Illustrations, to the photo and everything that "picture" fits the definition, can be provided in different formats. That competently to use them, it is necessary to understand properties of each of them. Reformat the image with that expansion which is more rational for using in this case.

Instruction
1. Open the selected file in the program photo editor. Save it with the .bmp extension if the transmission accuracy of color in this picture is the most important for you. It is a simple format of the bitmap image in which to each point there corresponds a certain color. About 48 bits of information characterizing a shade can fall on one pixel in bmp. At the same time 24 bits are taken for the standard on the Internet. The impossibility of image compression belongs to shortcomings of this format. And its weight directly depends on number of points on height and width.
2. Use .gif for saving black-and-white documents, pictures from the screen - screens or the animated pictures. In such files it is possible to set change of several frames which will give effect of the movement. The format was created for an Internet environment, for transfer of images with a small number of flowers, but big surfaces of the same shade. Depth of color in it only 8 bits on a point. Therefore gif badly transfers half tone, but allows to set transparency. Use the Photoshop program to seize its opportunities. Files of gif well give in to compression that is important for the Internet. It is possible to call a format the best choice for creation of moving avatars.
3. Save the photo with the .jpg or .jpeg extension. Such representation is ideal for pictures. Here 24 bits are the share of pixel. This format can be small on weight, but at the same time is capable to transfer all transitions of half tones precisely. Other types of images with the same quality will show the large number kilobyte is essential. Jpg requires a compromise between compression and quality of the photo as it allows to compress files to any size, but at the same time a part of information is lost.
4. Select the .png extension at the need for significant compression without loss of quality. This format supports 48 bits on a point, but in it animation is impossible. Png has advantages on compression before bmp, but loses jpg. And, unfortunately, it can give error messages in some browsers.
