The ping function serves for check of access to web resources by means of sending packages of the known sizes for the selected host and definitions of time of return of a response. Shutdown of this function can be useful to gamers to reduction of time of possible delays.
Instruction
1. Open the main system menu, having clicked "Start-up", and pass into the Control panel point. Open the link "Windows Firewall" and go to the Expanded tab of the opened dialog box. Click ICMP Settings and deselect a checkbox in the line Allow incoming echo request. Save the made changes, having pressed the OK button.
2. Return to the main menu "Start-up" and pass into a dialog "Execute". Print mmc in the line "Open" and confirm start of the utility, having pressed the OK button. Open the File menu of the top service panel of an application window and specify the Add/Remove Snap-in point. Add the IP Security and Policy Management equipment and apply a checkbox in the line Local computer. Confirm performing the selected action, having clicked Close, and save the made changes, having pressed the OK button.
3. Open a context menu of the IP Security Policies element of the left area of the console by click of the right mouse button and specify the Manage IP Filter Lists and Filter Actions point. Open the link All ICMP Traffic of the opened dialog box and go to the Manage Filter Actions tab in the following dialog box.
4. Miss the first the master's windows, having clicked Next, and enter Block in the Filter Action Name field of a new dialog box. Save the made changes, having clicked Next, and complete the work of the master. It is possible to make it, having clicked Close in the last window.
5. Repeatedly open a context menu of the IP Security Policies element of the mmc console by click of the right mouse button and specify the Create IP Security Policy command. Miss the first opened master's window, having clicked Next, and print Block Ping in the field of Name of the following dialog box. Confirm performing the selected action, having clicked Next, and deselect a checkbox in the line Activate the default responce rule in a new window. Save the made changes by clicking of the Next button and apply a checkbox in the line Edit Properties of the completing master's window. Apply changes, having clicked Finish, and use the Add command in a window of the new IPSec policy.
6. Confirm performing the selected action, having clicked Next, and apply a checkbox in the line All network connections. Save the made changes, having clicked Next, and note a checkbox in the line All ICMP Traffic. Once again click Next and apply a checkbox in the line Block of a new dialog box. Save the made changes, having clicked Next, and open a context menu of the created policy by click of the right mouse button. Specify the Assign command.
