You can update the version of any given program manually or by means of inclusion of function which provides automatic update. It also concerns clients of ICQ.
Instruction
1. Open any web browser, pass to the official site of that client of ICQ which you use. Find the section where different versions of the client contain on a resource. Arrange if it is necessary, the list of the displayed updates on adding time for the website.
2. Having established what update of the client is the last, download on the computer. If you decided to download the program not from official, and from other website, without fail make its check by means of an antivirus on presence of worms, trojans and other similar programs and also a malicious code.
3. Start the exe executable file, however do not forget to complete before it the work of your ICQ client. Then in the menu select the Update of the Old Version item if such option is provided by the program installer. Otherwise just select a directory in which there is a client who is subject to update for unpacking. It will not be required to enter data for an input again at the same time, all passwords, logins will be saved.
4. Can be required to delete previously the old version of the client, and already then to install new. It is possible to make it by means of the Installation and Removal of Programs menu that is in the control panel. When you select options of uninstallation of the client, select better "Fast removal with saving custom settings". It will allow you to save a program configuration.
5. There are also special programs which perfectly clean the hard drive of the computer from unnecessary files, allow to work comfortably with the register and to delete programs. It is possible to carry to such programs, for example, CCleaner or Free Spacer.
6. Install the new version of the client. A directory where will copy files, the same where there was an old version of the program. Start the client, check settings – whether they were saved. For this purpose open the menu of system configuration.
7. If the client allows to include the mode of automatic downloading and installation of updates, configure this mode. Nevertheless, it will be better to leave nevertheless the manual mode of downloading and installation of updates. Also, before downloading and installing updates, create a system recovery point. All that some versions of any given program can have no time for the end finished what can lead business to problems with the system of the computer.
