SQL files most often contain instructions for creation and filling by contents of databases. Usually they are used for preparation on the SQL server of the structure necessary for work of the website, or for data transfer from one server on another. Such files contain instructions in a normal text format and loading them on the server, as a rule, does not cause difficulties.

Instruction

1. If the hosting company gave you an opportunity of use of MySQL, it should provide also the corresponding instrument of management. Possible options two - or the company uses a self-produced system, or the PhpMyAdmin application. Therefore first of all look for the link to the section relating to databases in the panel of administration of your account. In the first case you can learn about a way of loading of sql-files in the help section of a hosting or in support desk. And in the second - operation will begin with authorization in application "admin panel". The PhpMyAdmin user interface is displayed in a browser window, as at any management system of the websites.

2. After authorization select the name of the database into which it is necessary to load sql-files in the left column of the interface. The tables which are already existing in this base will be displayed in the right frame, and over them you will see the menu with links to different functions of management of MySQL base.

3. Click the link "Import" in the menu, and the application will display a required form for loading in the database of instructions from sql-files. Press the Browse button, find the first loaded file in the computer, select it and click "Open". In the field "Encoding of the File" set the necessary value - today most often text files, including also sql, register in utf8 encoding which in this field is selected by default.

4. In the section "Format of the Imported File" leave a mark opposite to the inscription SQL and press the OK button to start loading. If everything passes normally, you will see the corresponding message and will be able to pass to loading of the following set of SQL instructions. If file size appears more resolved by a hoster, you should separate manually the instructions which are contained in it into several groups, to save them in separate files and to repeat loading for everyone separately.
