In Chrome product line from the Google company the new development - Web Lab appeared. Now users will have an opportunity to get acquainted virtually with the Museum of science in London, moreover – to be in an interactive with objects of installations of the museum. The exhibition in the Museum of science consists of five exhibits. Web site visitors in real time can interact with these exhibits. Before visit of the website you should be sure that yours the video card and the browser support WebGL technology. The main browser which works with this technology is Google Chrome, it is also possible to use FireFox and Safari. The main objective of the Chrome Web Lab project is to show to users modern opportunities of digital technologies and to inspire for creation of new projects.
The simplest technologies are Lab Tag Explorer ("The guide to tags of laboratory") and Data Tracer ("Data retrieval"). The first shows quantity and arrangement of visitors of laboratory, the second is intended for search of files.
Universal Orchestra ("Universal orchestra") is the exhibit using WebSockets technology. You can hear a virtual concert which is reproduced in the museum by means of the robotic tools managed by people from the different countries of the world. To have an opportunity to create the tune, you should wait some time as persons interested to experiment very much.
By means of Sketchbots exhibit you can order to the robotic manipulator the photo. For this purpose it is necessary to make the picture from the webcam, to unload it, then to click Submit. The robot will execute your portrait on sand then your image will be erased that there was an opportunity to work with other users.
Thanks to an exhibit of Teleporter ("Teleporter") you can "teleport" to some places of the globe, for example, in cafe in Northern Carolina or a sea aquarium in Cape Town. Of course, teleportation purely digital, you only will be able to receive the panoramic image from the webcams located in different points of Earth.
The project presumably will be available till June of the next year.
