History
1989 when the world hypertext project was offered by Tim Berners-Li is considered official year of birth of a world wide web. The essence of this project consisted in the publication of the hypertext documents connected among themselves by hyperlinks for the purpose of the facilitated document retrieval by scientific CERN where Tim worked at that time. It developed the identifiers URI, the HTTP protocol and the HTML language - all without what already modern Internet and cannot be presented. And hypertext documents are also those numerous websites. The world's first website was placed by Tim Berners-Li on August 6, 1991 on the first web server. He explained a concept of a world wide web and the installation instruction of servers.
Structure
The world wide web includes millions of Web servers located worldwide, designated by well familiar abbreviation of WWW (World Wide Web). The Web server is the computer program intended for data transmission with use of the HTTP protocol. This program is started on the computer connected to network.
The principle of operation of the Web server in the following: having received a http request, the program finds a required resource on the hard local drive and sends it on the computer of the requested user.
