What is Chrome Web Lab

Chrome Web Lab – the new interactive project started by Google. As well as any new offered by this company it attracted genuine interest of Internet users. It is quite clear that for use of the service of the same name it is the best of all to use the Google Chrome browser.

 


The Web Lab project is started by Google in cooperation with the London museum of science. It is a museum exhibition from five exhibits and also the website on which you in an interactive mode can get access to them. The main idea of the project is in allowing visitors of the website in a real mode of time to interact with real exhibits. Each of them is devoted to a certain technology, the project will work till June, 2013.


To look at exhibits of the museum in operation, pass to the website of laboratory. Consider that the browser and the video card of the computer should support WebGL technology. The first exhibit – "Universal orchestra" (Universal Orchestra). Having started it, you will be able to play eight musical instruments installed in the museum, creating own tunes. The exhibit of Sketchbots is very interesting. The webcam of the computer takes your picture, it is immediately processed, turning into the planimetric picture. Having clicked Submit, you can send it to the museum. After that the robotic manipulator installed in it quickly enough will draw your portrait on sand. However, and in this case you should stand rather big queue. The ready portrait, unfortunately, will be erased later.

The exhibit "Teleporter" (Teleporter) allows to manage the panoramic webcams installed in several places in the world – in cafe in Northern Carolina in entertainment center in Holland and in an oceanarium of Cape Town. Having selected this exhibit of the museum, you will see three round windows corresponding to three installed webcams. Select any of them – for example, the first. You immediately "teleport" in cafe in Northern Carolina, before you there will be an image from the camera mounted in it. You can turn a mouse it on 360o, it will give you the complete panoramic overview. Besides, you will be able to take the picture of what you observe. The picture from entertainment center is less interesting, and here the panorama from a sea aquarium in Cape Town will allow you to observe fishes. Turning the camera, you will be able to monitor any inhabitant of an aquarium who was pleasant to you.

The following exhibit of the museum – Data Tracer. It allows to find where any given file is physically stored. In comparison with the previous exhibits it is less interesting and just shows on the map path to a specific point. The same can be told also about the fifth exhibit of the museum Lab Tag Explorer showing on the map where there are visitors of laboratory and also counting their quantity. Having visited the website of laboratory, you will be able independently to test all exhibits of the London museum of science.
