Why to create distributions on torrent

Digital Hits: 77

File sharing - an irreplaceable element of functioning of the Internet. Rather even the Internet is result of information exchange between people. One of the most developed ways of exchange - BitTorrent - is popular not only in Russia, but also worldwide. But in what the purpose of its use and why it is necessary to create torrent-distributions?

Bit torrent as one of ways of file sharing

Before understanding the importance of torrents for modern Internet community, it is necessary to understand the principle of functioning of torrents.

Most often mean by a torrent only the client program via which there is a file sharing though actually initially the torrent (BitTorrent) was meant as only the special protocol for cooperative file sharing which was developed in 2001.

Many do not guess, but the programs working under the BitTorrent protocol there are about three dozen, but the most popular of them - BitTorrent - has a name of the protocol because it was developed by the same Bram Coen.

The principle of a program runtime consists in use of this protocol and also that the program and the protocol do not store information transferred between users at all - these data are stored on local computers of users which participates in "distribution".

After the beginning of "distribution" the distributed file is available only for one person and after the file is downloaded by other participant, it conditionally "is divided" into two parts (on 50%). Thus the third person will accept the file from "distribution", downloading two parts of the file at two different users.

The bigger number of people participates in distribution, the quicker there is a loading of the file, and by that less loading is felt by each participant of distribution.

Participants of distribution are divided into two types: "feasts" (English peer) - those who did not download the file yet (in process) and "sid" (English seed) - those who have all segments of the file and are distributing.

In addition to two main types of participants the torrent distributions, exists also the third, rather informal type of users - "treat" (English leech - a bloodsucker). "Bloodsuckers" call users who only download files, deciding not to become on distribution after successful loading. Understand users who only download as "licha" - do not share with others.

Why to exchange files through torrents?

The question of whether it is worth becoming "distributing" torrent trackers, is extremely subjective: everything depends on preferences of the user and preferences in favor of any given type of information exchange.

BitTorrent appeared long ago and proved as excellent and, moreover, a free way of cooperative file transfer of large volume. At the same time torrents suit also those people who have no superfast Internet connection.

Whether to become in "distribution"?

The question of whether to become in distribution, is rather a question of ethics and pragmatics. On the one hand, even 30 distributions can slow down significantly the speed of Internet connection of the user, on the other hand, it is a good habit - to help people who were in the same situation earlier, as you.
