Dom Pérignon today – not only the known brand of sparkling wines. It is, first of all, sign of luxury and prosperity. The known champagne created according to unique recipes of the French abbot strikes with the refined taste and aroma.

Dom Pérignon is elite champagne which became a legend among sparkling wines. Its existence on a table is sign of prosperity, luxury and belonging to "cream" of society. The very first bottle of champagne was presented in 1921, however the name of the brand is connected with earlier events.

The house-keeper of abbey Otvilyer – Pierre Perinion was a creator of drink. Despite the position, he was quite dear person, and held deserved authority. How it treated winemaking process, beginning from vineyards till the flood in bottles, was worthy the fact that the ordinary house-keeper was called mister.

The great French revolution affected well-known abbey, and all property of Pierre was seized by the authorities, and vineyards are redeemed by the Moët & Chandon company. Many years later Pierre Perinion's recipes became an inspiration source for creators of elite champagne. And in honor to the economy wine maker sparkling drink began to bear his name.

Explosive Perinyona wine

Actually Pierre wasn't a pioneer of sparkling drink because such wine was produced earlier. However Perinyon could achieve considerable results in suppression of explosive nature of drink and creation of the ideal recipe of champagne. To receive really tasty champagne the abbot-house-keeper mixed the most various grape grades, and received surprising drink with original taste. Perinyon possesses the idea to spill sparkling wine on bottles, but not to store it in barrels which constantly burst under pressure of champagne.

As the legend is born

Some time fate of the known brand was not absolutely ideally, and it was connected with two factors:  beginning of the Great depression;  introduction of "Prohibition" of America. The first batch of champagne Prestige Cuvee Dom Pérignon was presented to society in 1921. However was available for sale only in 15 years. In the Old World it drink was presented to British. And only a year later more than hundred boxes with this champagne I went to court of the public across the ocean. Then also the decision on the beginning of production of drink commercially and on a postoyny basis was finally made. In hard post-war time – it was serious and really risky decision. Despite the increasing tension in the sphere of policy and the ban on sale of alcohol, Robert-Jean de Vog was convinced that wealthy people will always pay a high price for elite alcohol. And that Dom Pérignon champagne was worthy to be called the best nobody doubted. Therefore absolutely it isn't surprising that drink became a brand, and the manufacturing company gained world recognition.
