1. Look at leaves: green color and dense arrangement guarantee that you buy fresh pineapple. At observance of the corresponding temperature conditions, pineapple can be stored up to several weeks, and in this case it is better not to buy excessively ripe fruit.

2. Use method which is usually applied when choosing watermelons: knock on a fruit side. A deaf sound – a strong indication of the fact that the baking plate a brown skin disappears juicy, saturated yellow pulp which will please you with the taste. And here it is better to refuse the pineapple responding to your pats by ringing notes: this fruit already obviously dried up.

3. Look at a crust: the ideal fruit which will be able to decorate the most solemn New Year's table has to have it elastic, but rather soft. Most often at ripe pineapple the crust has a brownish shade, but it can be also greenish color.

And here the return is incorrect: and the good fruit can not smell, it depends on in what way it got to your country. The smell is kept only by the pineapples brought by means of the plane as they gather from trees, being already ripe. Cheaper fruits get to shops from boards of the ships traveling around sea open spaces. This way is longer therefore pineapples leave the trees still before finally ripen, and don't manage to gain the corresponding aroma.
