Dried squids - great snack for beer and not only. One problem - they cost much. The frozen squids are much cheaper, and it is possible to dry up them with ease and in house conditions. So why not to test the recipe?

It is required to you

  • the frozen squids - 500 g
    • salt - 150 g
    • water - 1 l


1. Defreeze squids in warm - about 30 degrees - water. It is desirable not to overdo squids in water that they didn't lose the nutritive properties, including, long finding of squids in water can lead to loss of reserves of iodine which is so sharply necessary under our conditions.

2. Get squids from water, carefully separate the head and an entrails not to break integrity of a sack of sepia which contents can paint fillet in black color.

3. Cut squids on fillet or cut rings as it is pleasant to you more.

4. Prepare a brine from salt and water, with the temperature about 20 degrees. Filter it. Place squids in a brine. Time of salting fillet of 2-5 minutes, rings - 1-2 minutes.

5. Get squids from a brine, put on a lattice in order that excess water flew down. Leave for about twenty minutes.

6. After all this, place squids on a gridiron. It is possible to dry in the microwave with the combined mode or on a convection oven. It is better to select the mode individually. An approximate drying point - 60-80 degrees Celsius.

7. Dried fillet of squids can be broken off on strips, having received thereby dried straws of a squid. If strictly to follow this recipe, dried squids turn out not worse than those that are on sale in shop.
