How to freeze plum for the winter

The frozen plum can be used for preparation of various confectionery: pies, cakes, sauces and so on. In addition, from it it is possible to cook compotes. Advantage of the frozen plum is that it doesn't contain preservatives and other substances harmful to an organism.

Instruction

1. In the beginning well touch plums, wash out in water, remove tails. Then lay out them on a towel and dry. It is possible to cover them from above with other clean towel or to rub off slightly. Accurately knife plums in half and take out a stone. If you don't break plum, namely you cut, cuts turn out upper and equal.

2. Lay out plums on a tray or a big dish so that the cut appeared above. Place a tray at several o'clock in the freezer. If in the fridge there is a compartment "Fast Freezing", send a tray with plums there. Usually this part of the freezer looks as a small pallet.

3. When plum is frozen, pull out a tray. Now sort berries on polyethylene sacks, remove from them excess air and put packages in the freezer. In such type of discharge it can be stored up to the next summer. If you don't plan to do of plum a stuffing for pies, freeze it together with stones. Let it will harden in the beginning, and then put it in a container and send for continuous freezing.

4. If plums very big, cut them in half, get a stone, and then cut to the size necessary to you. However advantage of halves that they don't freeze strongly to a tray therefore rather easily separate. Besides plum keeps vitamins and minerals inherent in it if not to crush it.

5. For storage of berries and fruit in the natural form temperature in the freezer has to be at least - 18 wasps. At more high temperature (for example, - 12 wasps) storage of berries within 1-1.5 months is allowed. Put from 200 to 600 grams of plum in plastic bags. Fruit can lie very densely, but their integrity has to remain. If you don't want to mix plum with other fruit or berries, surely sign packages.

6. For a defrosting there are several ways. Move packages from the freezer to the fridge, and plum will thaw in 12 hours. In the open air it happens in 4-5 hours. In a convection oven, an oven or the microwave oven it is possible to defreeze plums in only a few minutes. At a defrosting of plums in hot water you watch that water didn't get to packages of fruit.
