They are used as a stuffing to cake or pie and also as a separate element. This dessert can be prepared almost from any vegetables and fruit! But candied fruits from carrots will definitely not leave you indifferent.

It is required to you

  • - water;
  • - 1 kg of carrots;
  • - 1 kg of sugar;
  • - icing sugar;
  • - half teaspoon of citric acid;
  • - teaspoon of vanillin or ginger.

Instruction

1. For a candied fruit it is necessary to use carrots of bright orange color. It is good to wash up, clean roots, and then to cut in cubes or straws. But consider that pieces will decrease several times therefore too small you shouldn't cut.

2. Fill in future candied fruits with boiled water, you cook within several minutes, and then drain water. Mix 1 glass of carrot broth, sugar, citric acid and weld syrup.

3. Fill in with syrup the blanched carrots and you cook on slow fire until liquid doesn't become transparent and dense as honey. For aroma before cooking it is possible to add ginger or vanillin.

4. Take out carrot pieces from syrup, lay on a leaf of a foil and dry in the dark place at the room temperature. Strew candied fruits with icing sugar and lay in boxes, you store in room conditions. Pleasant tea drinking!
