How to make Cointreau orange liqueur with cinnamon in house conditions

Many gourmets are subdued by pleasant orange liqueur of Cointreau. The main feature of drink are an interesting combination of ripe oranges and sugar. The original recipe for liqueur can't be found as it is kept the most strict secret. But wine makers found a way out and developed several ways which allow to repeat this known orange drink in house conditions.

It is required to you

  • - vodka - 1/2 liters,
  • - ripe oranges - 3 pieces,
  • - water - 400 ml,
  • - sugar - 400 grams,
  • - cinnamon - 1 stick.

Instruction

1. We wash out oranges under flowing water.

2. We pour 400 ml of water in a pan, we add 400 grams of sugar, we put on moderate fire. We stir slowly syrup that didn't burn. Sugar has to be dissolved completely. We remove ready syrup from fire.

3. We remove the top skin (dried peel) from oranges. We cut a dried peel small pieces and we shift it in a sugar syrup, we mix. We add a cinnamon stick (if you not really love cinnamon, then it is possible to make liqueur without it).

4. From pulp of oranges we squeeze out juice which we pour in a pan. We leave to infuse for ten minutes.

5. We pour out vodka in a pan. Well we mix, we pour liquid weight in bank which is hermetically closed.

6. We put to bank with drink to the cool place (it is desirable dark) for four days. Every day to bank with liqueur it is shaken up.

7. In four days we filter liqueur through two-three layers of a gauze. The gauze when filtering is soiled therefore it needs to be changed.

8. We spill liqueur on clean and dry bottles. We remove liqueur for five days to the cool place. If you want more dense drink, then leave bottles in the dark cool place for a week.
