How to make pumpkin jam with orange

Pumpkin – the tasty and useful vegetable known in the majority of the countries of the world. In Russian cuisine pumpkin is most often used for preparation of soups, porridges and also baked in an oven. Pumpkin jam with oranges is a wonderful delicacy which can be added to tea or to cook with it tasty pies.

It is required to you

  • 1 kg of pumpkin;
    • 1 kg of sugar;
    • 3 oranges;
    • 2 pinches of citric acid.

Instruction

1. Carefully wash oranges in warm water and slightly dry by means of a towel. Then cut everyone on four parts, choose sunflower seeds and miss them together with a dried peel via the meat grinder or crush in the blender.

2. Peel pumpkin from a crust, remove seeds, cut in small cubes no more than one centimeter thick and put in a pan. The pan has to be enameled or from high-quality stainless steel.

3. You watch closely that pulp wasn't too soft as overripe vegetable loses the main gustatory qualities and vitamins.

4. Further add to a pan about pumpkin oranges which are passed via the meat grinder, properly mix everything, fill up from above with sugar.

5. Cover a pan and leave, juice won't appear yet. You can make it since evening that in a night enough juice was distinguished, and in the morning at once to start jam making.

6. After pumpkin gives juice, put a pan on fire, bring contents to the boil and boil thoroughly on average fire within 20-30 minutes. Remove a skin from jam in process of education.

7. Then remove a pan from fire and leave for 3-4 hours that jam cooled down. After this time add to it citric acid, carefully mix and again put on fire.

9. Pour ready jam in the prepared sterile jars, close covers and you store in the cool place. Give it to tea as a dessert with a dry biscuit or ice cream.
