Zeppelins are the national Lithuanian dish which received the name because of a form which is very similar to the known aircraft. It is very tasty, nutritive and useful. Any Lithuanian girl is obliged to be able to prepare it, but today it becomes popular and in the Russian families. Someone can tell that zeppelins are very similar to a zraz. Really, there is some similarity, but there are also distinctions.

- For zeppelins:
- potatoes - 2 kg;
- mincemeat (it is better pork) - 500 g;
- bulb - 1 piece;
- citric acid - ½ tsps;
- starch - 2 tablespoons;
- ground black pepper
- For sauce it will be required:
- fat - 150 g;
- bulbs - 2-3 pieces;
- sour cream - 1 glass.
1. Take several tubers of potatoes, boil them and knead in puree. Leave to cool down. For now grate the remained potatoes on a small grater, well wring out excess liquid, add starch. Mix boiled and crude potatoes before receiving homogeneous, elastic mass. That dough didn't darken until you cook forcemeat, add to it a little citric acid.
2. Prepare a stuffing. For this purpose add the fried onions, salt, pepper and other spices to forcemeat to taste.
3. Make quite big flat cakes of potato dough, on the middle of each of them put a little forcemeat. Accurately close up edges, give to zeppelins the corresponding oblong shape. For simplification of process of a molding moisten hands with water more often.
4. Now zeppelins should be welded. Lower them in the boiling water on one. Don't forget at the same time them to stir slowly that didn't stick together. It is necessary to cook zeppelins within minutes 30. When they rise to the surface, and then will fall by a bottom again, it is possible to get them. After that it is possible to fry zeppelins in a frying pan before receiving golden, a crisp.
5. Make sauce which will impact to a dish a peculiar taste and aroma. Fry the fat cut small into cubes, onions. It is possible to add a little brisket.
