Recently traditional dishes of Japanese cuisine became very popular in our country. Any business dinner or a festive action doesn't do without this low-calorie and useful product. Today all necessary ingredients for making sushi and rolls can be bought in specialized shops and to prepare them in house conditions. However, very few people know how it is necessary to store rolls that they weren't spoiled too quickly.

In shops of Japanese cuisine, sushi and rolls are stored in special show-windows. Many visitors consider that the products which are stored on such show-windows are stale and, perhaps, spoiled. However such opinion is wrong. Show-windows are equipped with the special evaporator interfering drying of fish and rice therefore they not only cool products but also support the necessary level of humidity. But even sushi and rolls can be stored in such hi-tech equipment no more than 3 hours then they become unusable.

Many, buying rolls in shops, move away them in the fridge and use only several hours later or next day. Quite often spiteful responses and complaints to products of shops and restaurants of Japanese cuisine become result of such wrong storage of rolls. However, it is possible to avoid similar unpleasant consequences if to follow a number of simple rules at storage of rolls.

Storage of rolls – several rules

  • You don't store rolls in plastic ware or packing in which they were on sale. These containers serve only as means for their carrying and don't keep freshness of products in any way. If rolls lie in such ware of more than a day, then they zavetritsya and rice will become dry and distasteful.
  • It is possible to store rolls in the fridge more than 3 hours in case fish and other seafood isn't their part. However if the rice used for preparation of rolls was strongly seasoned with a soy-bean sauce or rice vinegar, then after this time it, most likely, will turn sour.
  • Before removing rolls in the fridge, lay out them on a flat dish and densely wrap up it in food wrap. Sushi and rolls in food wrap are stored longer, than in a usual plastic container.

These recommendations will help to prolong a period of storage of rolls and to keep their initial taste. However it should be taken into account that even storage of sushi and rolls in food wrap doesn't guarantee them to safety therefore it is better to eat dishes of Japanese cuisine no later than 3 hours from the moment of their preparation.
