Cowberry is not only very tasty, but also extremely useful berry, at the same time its medicinal properties remain even after heat treatment. Cowberry jam contains a set of various vitamins, is capable to have febrifugal effect and serves as excellent prevention of catarrhal diseases.

Classical cowberry jam

Classical option of preparation of cowberry jam quite simple. In this recipe other berries and fruit aren't used that allows to enjoy unique taste of ripe cowberry wholly.

Necessary ingredients:

  • 1 kg of cowberry;
  • 250 ml of water;
  • 500 g of granulated sugar.

Preparation:

Berries of fresh cowberry carefully we wash a baking plate with flowing water and we peel them from tails. We fill a pan with water and we pour out in it cowberry. We allow berries to boil a little, then we add sugar. We bring mix to the boil, periodically stirring slowly then we cook 15 more minutes. From a surface of jam we delete a skin, we spill it on clean banks, we roll up and we remove to be cooled.

Cowberry jam with apples

Cowberry jam in itself very tasty, however, if to add to it other berries or fruit, then it will develop more interesting and saturated taste. For example, cowberry and apples jam turns out incredibly tasty. Besides, on the health giving qualities this delicacy doesn't concede to raspberry jam at all.

Necessary ingredients:

  • 1 kg of cowberry;
  • 1 kg of apples;
  • 200 ml of water;
  • 700 g of granulated sugar.

Preparation:

We wash cowberry and we clean from leaves, tails and other garbage. We wash apples, we rind with them and we cut in cubes of the average size. We put a pan with water on a plate when liquid begins to boil, we lower in it cowberry and we cook within 5 minutes, constantly stirring slowly. Then we add the cut apples to a pan and we cook 10 more minutes, without stopping disturbing. In the received mix we pour out sugar and again we cook 10 minutes. We spill ready cowberry and apple jam on the hot sterilized banks and we roll up.

Cowberry jam with blackberry and honey

The combination of two wild berries – cowberry and blackberry – impacts to jam the unique slightly slightly acid flavor capable to surprise even the most pretentious gourmets.

Necessary ingredients:

  • 1 kg of cowberry;
  • 1 kg of blackberry;
  • 200 ml of honey;
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice;
  • 400 ml of water.

Preparation:

We wash berries under flowing water and we clean from tails. We fill a pan with water, we put it on slow fire, we pour out the washed-up berries and we add honey. Then we bring water to the boil and we cook mix of 20 minutes, constantly stirring slowly. We remove cowberry and blackberry jam from fire, we add to it lemon juice, carefully we alter everything and we allow to cool down to room temperature. We spill ready delicacy on banks and we twist covers.

Cowberry jam with dried apricots

Having connected cowberry and dried apricots in one recipe, we will receive not only very useful product which will save in the period of a flu epidemic, but also great delicacy with exotic taste.

Necessary ingredients:

  • 1 kg of cowberry;
  • 600 g of dried apricots;
  • 5 kg of granulated sugar.

Preparation:

Cowberry is washed carefully out, peeling it from tails. We wash dried apricots and we cut small pieces. We place berries in a pan, we fill in them with water and we cook before boiling on slow fire. We pour out sugar and pieces of dried apricots in a pan then we cook jam about 15-20 more minutes, constantly stirring slowly and removing the skin formed on a surface. We pack ready cowberry and dried apricots jam on banks, we roll up and we remove till winter.
