Ficuses are plants from family mulberry among which both deciduous, and evergreen representatives of flora occur. Various trees, bushes and even lianas, for example, fig, fig and, usual everything, ficus in tub in the house of mom and grandmother enter this numerous sort.
Ancient Chinese attributed to ficus magic properties. According to the doctrine the hair dryer-shuy, this plant brings rest and wellbeing to the house, reduces influence of negative energy, promotes the solution of everyday disorders and even helps childless couples to conceive the child, creating the atmosphere favorable for this purpose. In total there are more than 800 types of ficus, each of which is divided into set of types and subspecies. That is why in each house the unique pet grows, and it seems what similar is not present anywhere any more.
Ways of reproduction of ficuses
There are many ways of reproduction of this plant, but in house conditions only three are most often used.
The method of cherenkovy reproduction is rooting of upper part of adult stalk, its so-called top. After cut the escape is kept in water during short time. There will be enough 2-3 hours in order that lacteal juice of plant came out planting stock. The prepared escape needs to be dried and placed in mix of the turf and sheet soil, and in month it will release roots, will become almost full-fledged ficus. But stable ambient temperature ranging from +24 to +32ºС is necessary for it for the full-fledged growth and forming. The sheet cherenkovaniye is reproduction by means of leaf with piece of stalk and kidney, and, the interstice (escape) will be longer, the chances of successful rooting are higher. The lower part of the prepared shank needs to be separated in half and to insert small pebble or fragment of match into section and only after that to place in soil. Near planting stock it is recommended to thrust long stick so that it was possible to envelop leaf around it and to record it soft material, best of all not rough fabric. The most interesting way of reproduction of ficus – by means of air layers. On adult plant, under the leaf 6th from above to make circular cut and to husk around stalk up to 3 cm wide. Around cut to place the polyethylene wrapper filled with the damp soil. This construction needs to be propped up, otherwise the shank can just break. Root kidneys are formed in the place of cut not earlier than in 20 days after carrying out manipulations.
Rules of care for young plant
The ficus is considered plant unpretentious, but this opinion is wrong. Violent growth and forming of beautiful krone are possible only at observance of rules of leaving and creation for ficus of optimal conditions. The period of active growth of ficus begins from early spring to September. It is important to provide sufficient watering at this time, but it is necessary to watch that the root system has not decayed. In winter time the watering is minimized – 2 or 3 times a month. Fertilizing is made only in the summer. It is not necessary to get special means, nettle infusions, mullein or wood ashes will approach. It is possible to replace plant only in the spring, prior to its active growth. Besides, it is important to watch over health of the pet – to remove larvae of wreckers (mealy worm and web tick) and not to allow frequent change of the place of "residence" - the ficus does not love movements.
