Instruction
1. The orchid can be put in two ways: on the block or substrate. On bottom of container the block prepared from bark of pine, oak or tree fern lays down. The plant is accurately attached to it by means of wire. There is nothing difficult in such landing. The main minus is fast drying of root system therefore the thicket should water.
2. Landing of orchid requires by the second way substrate. It can be bought in specialized shops or to make independently. For this purpose mix the crushed pine bark with peat. Substrate moisture content depends on ratio of ingredients. 1:1 – high humidity of mix. There are also other types of house substrate.
3. For landing of plant with small openings put in pot on bottom drainage, for example, gravel or haydite. Holding orchid in vertical position, powder root with substrate, leaving its stalk on top. Such way of landing will not take a lot of time.
4. The period of blossoming of orchid directly depends on species of plant and care for it. Duration is from 2 to 7 months. In certain cases it is possible not to wait for repeated blossoming. You should not throw leaving, replace flower and, perhaps, through some time it will please with bright buds again.
5. The orchid needs diffused light of 12 hours in day. Direct hit of sunshine on flower leads to yellowing of leaves. For long blossoming the correct temperature condition is necessary. In the summer – 15-32 º in the afternoon and 15-18 º at night. In the winter – 18-22 º in the afternoon and 12-15 º at night. And sharp temperature drop is harmful.
6. Watering for plant the important procedure. In summertime of moisture it is required more, than in winter. Therefore in warm months the orchid pours down 2-3 times a day, and in cold – 1-2 times. The root system will better transfer the dry soil, than too damp. From drought green leaves can turn yellow, and from the wet environment the root rots.
7. Orchid love humid air. It is hard to create such conditions in the apartment, especially during the winter period. When on the street there is heat, sprinkle leaves from spray, without getting on bud. Air more often the room, but do not put pot on draft at all. Sometimes the reason of the short period of blossoming (or absence repeated) is the shortage of the place for development of root system. In this case the flower should be replaced in big container.
8. For this purpose cut pot, accurately taking out orchid not to damage roots. Clean the excess earth and transfer plant to bigger vessel with drenazhy at the bottom. Powder with substrate the lower part, putting aside stalk from above. For landing of orchid it is better to use pot with smooth walls. Such choosy flower requires regular care, only in this case it will repeatedly blossom.
