It is required to you

  • - sulfate potassium;
  • - peat;
  • - clay;
  • - lime;
  • - copper vitriol;
  • - roofing material.

Instruction

1. Preparation of apple-trees for winter should be begun in the second half of summer. It is known that the tree with young escapes, not quite ripe till the cold weather, will be damaged by frost and is weakened by spring. It is simpler to prevent emergence of similar problem, than to fight against consequences. To reduce the number of young growth at the end of July it is necessary to refuse application in apple-tree garden of nitrogen fertilizers and to reduce watering. In rainy summer it is recommended to take away excess of moisture, having dug out drainage grooves.

2. For the best ripening of wood trees it is necessary to feed up phosphoric and nitrogen fertilizers. In September or the beginning of October, superphosphate at the rate from thirty to forty grams on square meter and sulfate potassium which on the same square twenty grams will be required is brought in the soil under apple-trees.

3. After the end of growth of escapes it is recommended it is abundant to water apple-trees. As a rule, it is done in September. At the same time the soil has to become impregnated with water on depth from one to one and a half meters. It is simple to check extent of moistening of the earth, having thrust to the earth in several places the wire probe. Uniform wetting of the soil can achieve, having made in soil from eight to ten openings of small diameter depth to half a meter.

4. After watering and absorption of water to the soil it is necessary to powder the earth with layer of mulch about fifteen centimeters thick. As the mulching material it is recommended to use peat. You should not powder pristvolny circles with straw and fallen leaves which attract rodents.

5. The main injuries of apple-tree are received at temperature drops at the end of winter and in the early spring. To avoid frost cracks and solar burns, shtamb and skeletal branches of trees process whitewashing. Its preparation on ten liters of water will require two kilograms of lime, kilogram of clay and three hundred grams of copper vitriol.

6. Whitewashing will be required to be repeated in March. If it is impossible, it is worth tying in the fall trunks and large branches with several layers of paper. For additional protection against mice and hares of shtamba it is possible to close roofing felt or roofing material, having fixed it by strong twine. In the spring this binding should be removed.
