The most widespread material for production of border - concrete. Installation of such stone does not demand special skills, it is enough to have experience with solution and the corresponding tool.
At first it is necessary to choose the most suitable stone; the border can be large (road) or small (sidewalk). In the first case the onboard stone is calculated on functional loading: division of the sidewalk and carriageway. The second option intends for giving to the site, path of visual integrity and esthetic appeal.
If it is supposed to use border as divider of traffic area and path for pedestrians, then it is more preferable to get the stone made by vibropressing method. Such products more reliable and durable since have high resistance to mechanical damages. Also when choosing stone pay attention to its shade: in the course of production the addition of various dyes which paint border in the set color is possible. Compliance of shade of paving slabs and border will give the finished look to your path.
The initial stage consists in surface preparation on which curbstone will be located. Hammer pegs into the earth and pull between them cord so that it passed across the line of future border. Further dig through on this line trench 20 cm wide (sidewalk stone) or 30-40 (road stone). Depth has to be equal to border height. The ready trench needs to be stamped, for this purpose it is possible to use the self-made tamper in form reminding the inverted letter "T". Further fill crushed stone layer (about 5 cm) and sand layer (thickness of layer depends on curbstone height - it has to come to light approximately on 2/3. The laid sand needs also to be stamped well. The following step – solution preparation. For this purpose use the concrete mixer or suitable capacity. 1 part of cement, 2.5 parts of sand and 2 parts of small crushed stone enters mix (klinets). The amount of water depends on degree of humidity of sand. When everything is ready, it is possible to display solution in trench and to establish curbstone. Here it is desirable to use rubber hammer by means of which it is possible to regulate stone height, extent of its immersion in solution. Establishing border, in passing you apply mix on joints between stones. Having made sure once again of what stones cost exactly, fill with solution the remained emptiness. At finishing stage it is necessary to fill slots between stones mix of dry cement and sand; spill them water and leave before full drying.
