In spite of the fact that in shop always abundance of tomatoes, each having kitchen garden or personal plot, seeks to grow up tomatoes independently. At cultivation it is very important to know how it is correct to tie up tomatoes.
The garter tomato in the open ground is very important and has many advantages. First, the tied-up tomatoes it is much easier to water, weed and feed up. Secondly, the tied-up tomatoes are dried after rains much quicker and aired, and it considerably reduces risk of disease. Well, and, thirdly, such tomatoes will be much better heated-up the sun, so will quicker ripen.
For garter there is one invariable rule: it is not necessary to tie up plant thin materials, such as wire, fishing line, thin rope. These materials can damage stalk, crash into it, and bacteria and the wreckers causing plant diseases easily get into affected areas.
It is better to use kapron material, for example, stockings or tights. Still well exactly cut rags of cotton products, such as sheet, blanket cover, pillowcase will approach. Fabric has to be not really old that has not rotted through during growth of culture. It is not necessary to use material two times (from last year) as in it there can be bacteria and causative agents of diseases. The garter has to be not really dense, material has to hold stalk, but not stick into it.
It is the more reliable and simplest to make garter to pegs. For this purpose use wooden (it can be long branches, sticks or even window fillets) or metal rods (armature is more often). Put peg near bush at distance of 5-7 centimeters. It is necessary to tie up top. For this purpose we wind stalk with rope and we put the ends cross-wise, and then we knot on peg. Thus, the received garter has to have appearance of ""eight"". Many prefer other way then to move rope of growth of plant over time, but it is better to make new garter higher. So you reduce risk of damage of stalk.
At mass landings it is necessary to use lane: between two columns to pull wire and over each bush to impose ropes. To tie other its ends to stalks of tomatoes. At such way the additional garter is not required, will enough twist in process of growth culture stalk around rope.
Having tied up the tomatoes it is possible to be sure that they will not fall at strong wind and will not break under weight of fruits.
