As make artificial marble

Artificial marble call the composite material made of the cured polyester resin and mineral filler as which the marble crumb, calcium carbonate, aluminum trihydrate, quartz sand and many other things can be used.

Instruction

1. Depending on type of polyester resin and mineral filler, artificial marble can imitate jasper, malachite, natural marble, granite or onyx. Thanks to production technique of artificial marble, huge opportunities for the choice of structure of ready material and its color gamma are given.

2. At first prepare form for production of artificial marble. It is polished and cause anti-adhesive (dividing) structures. Abhesives are necessary for ensuring easy removal of product from matrix. Forms can be created from different materials — epoxides, steel, silicone and nonsaturated polyester resins, fiber glass reinforced. The design of matrix has to be such that it has not got out of the shape under the influence of heat which is generated in the course of curing. Apply forms from aluminum to production of flat and simple parts.

3. On form evaporate gelknut 0.4-0.7 mm thick, do it by means of special installation or the cup spray. After curing of the gelkout start preparation of filling mix from polyester resin, filler, dyes and hardeners.

4. If to use a lot of fine-grained filler, solution will be too viscous that will lead to air congestion at surface of gelkoatny layer. High content of coarse-grained filler can become the reason of uneven distribution of mix and abnormal wetting by pitch. The adhesion of filler and pitch is improved by means of processing of its surface silon compound.

5. Normal content of filler — 75-80%. The increased humidity of filler can worsen mechanical properties of finished product and also be the cause of its incomplete rejection. Fine-grained fillers demand higher content of pitch in solution, than coarse-grained.

6. Mix of polyester resin with hardener and fillers is filled in in form. From mix apply vibrating to removal of air bells. As a rule, curing takes place at the room temperature. If it is excessively high, the risk of receiving cracks and deformations will increase.

7. As soon as edges of product begin to depart from matrix, it is possible to make its removal. It is worth remembering that at this stage the product has not reached full rejection yet therefore it is necessary to handle with it very with care. It is placed on the supporting frame to prevent deformation in the course of final rejection.
