The colonial style has arisen on border of the East and West when Europeans have begun to submit Africa, Asia and America. The colonial style is ideal example of the harmonious union of various cultures – European and east.
The colonial style has begun to be formed when colonialists began to bring refined objects to Europe, doing interior exotic and unique. At the same time strict rules at registration of interior do not exist as the style is mixture of various cultures, between which difference huge. The only thing that needs to be considered when choosing colonial style, is that it is suitable for big and spacious rooms more, than for small apartments. The color gamma in colonial style has to include ochre, chocolate shades, terracottas. For finishing of walls it is preferable to use opaque plaster, panel boards or panels from rattan. It is desirable to choose wall-paper from natural fibers: bamboo, jute or sisal. The brickwork or finishing by stone is admissible. Floors can be made of tree, stone, or tile imitating stone. Will perfectly add beam interior, bay windows, niches. Furniture for interior in colonial style has to be handmade or stylized under it. It is impossible to ignore the animal prints and elements of decor connected with fauna: instead of legs of claw of lion, and as decoration of furniture – figure of animals (turtles, crocodiles, monkeys). If financial opportunities allow, it is desirable to buy furniture from exotic wood: Eben, tic, Asian nut, mahogany, rattan or water hyacinth. The colonial style allows to fill the room with various accessories. Bronze figurines or figurines from dark tree, pillow from velvet with gold fringe, floor lamps with linen lamp shades are ideal. Instead of curtains it is possible to use blinds from bamboo or mat, floors can be laid carpets with vegetable fibers, and on walls it is possible to hang up safely horns of animals or landscapes with views of the exotic countries. Exotic flowers, bamboo, palm trees will become the finishing interior elements in colonial style.
