Fir Korean – beautiful long tree which for quite some time now became very popular with landscape designers. Its conic krone with soft dense needles which from above have bright green and from below silvery color, especially in combination with the purple-violet cones appearing from 7th year of life of tree gives to the garden site or the park the real charm.
How to plant fir Korean
The fir Korean can live up to 150 years, having reached height about 10-12 meters. This photophilous tree, however at young age can damage surplus of the sun to it. Therefore when landing it is necessary to choose the place which at least part of daylight will be in shadow.
If it is impossible (for example, that the site is on the flat open area), it is necessary to put the fence shading sapling.
The unpretentious fir, frost-resistant, well grows even on poor soils, and care for it is simple. For this reason it can be grown up in regions with severe climate, for example, in Siberia.
The fir Korean does not love the droughty soil, but badly transfers also excess moistening. Therefore if on your site underground waters approach close the surface of the soil, it is recommended to make drainage in landing hole. If in your region it is inherent drought, regularly water tree. As it has been already told, the fir Korean is unpretentious and can successfully grow even on the soil with the low content of useful substances. However really beautiful it will become if the soil contains a lot of humus. Therefore it is desirable to fill landing hole with humus. Plant fir Korean or early vein before blooming of kidneys, or in the fall. It is better to plant nevertheless young plant because adult firs take root much worse.

How to look after fir Korean
If the fir was planted in the spring, during the vegetative period it two-three times are necessary it is abundant to water. The plant very much praises on weeding and loosening of pristvolny circle and also on mulching. Best of all as mulch to use peat. At long droughty and hot weather it is recommended to spray fir with water two times a week by means of the water sprinkler or nozzle on hose. For the second or third year after landing it is desirable to feed up fir Korean complex mineral fertilizer. Fertilizing is made in the early spring as at this time the plant actively gains color. It is inexpedient to cut fir Korean as it independently forms good pyramidal krone. It is possible to be limited to removal of the central kidneys on side escapes. This removal is carried out by all means in the fall.
