To grow up good harvest of cucumbers, it is necessary to water constantly them and to delete the beds appearing around importunate weeds. The problem of possible frosts which perniciously influence process of germination of young shoots is also added to cultivation of early grades of cucumbers. The solution of these problems can be helped considerably by normal polyethylene film.
Instruction
1. In the early spring on the bed which is taken away under landing of cucumbers we do holes by diameter to the 30-40th, about 10 cm in depth. Optimum distance between holes from 0.5 - up to 1 meter.
2. In the made holes we plant 6-7 seeds of early cucumbers. The bed with the planted seeds is covered with polyethylene film, and we fix edges of film.
3. There will pass some time and small shoots will appear. Under film they will easily endure spring frosts. When plants have about five leaves, do crosswise cuts around holes in order that young plants came to film surface.
4. We leave four more powerful sprouts in hole, having removed superfluous of weaker. We delete weeds only in hole, other weeds under film are left.
5. Cucumbers will grow over film while weed plants the growth will raise film, but will not be able to become straight because of covering. The weeds breathing under film will warm with the heat the cucumbers growing over film. Requirement of weeding and scarification disappears and also the need for watering as the polyethylene film well keeps moisture is considerably reduced.
6. As the plant grows on film and practically do not adjoin to the soil, risks of disease of cucumbers and costs of their processing of various chemical medicines decrease. And the last is it is a pleasure to reap such crop, cucumbers on film always clean and it is easy to see them.
