The market of construction materials offers wide variety of modern materials which mostly represent universal or wide-profile products of different function. One of such demanded materials are geotextiles.
Synthetic material from thin fibers of polyair or polypropylene is called geotextiles. Unlike many analogs geotextiles – cloth nonwoven, it is made by methods of hot pressing or needled mechanical addition.
Use of geotextiles
Geotextiles are actively used during the land management works. It has high strength characteristics: is not torn and does not break even at temperature drop. Besides textiles do not decay and do not crumble over time, it is resistant to fungal and bacterial damages, is not suitable in food to insects or rodents. Dense synthetic geofabric does not suffer from aggressive influence of saline soils and also soil alkalis and acids.
This material serves as the excellent reinforcing element when forming soil layers, it is used at the organization of water disposal and even for filtration of waters. It does not pass soil and does not allow to collect to ilyashchy elements, and therefore it is also good drainage layer which is part of the device of water disposal systems, registrations of slopes, breaks, slopes.
Modern geotextiles are produced in the range of density from 80 to 1200 g/m2.
Not so long ago geotextiles began to be used at burial of not chemical waste and also for registration of cesspools, burial grounds.
Types of geotextiles
The thermofastened geotextiles are considered the strongest. The fibers processed by heat receive strong adhesion therefore the cloth is resistant to mechanical damages. However this type of geofabric because of production method practically does not pass moisture, and therefore it is not possible to use it as material for filtration. It will not be suitable for drainage too because material time quickly gets littered.
Quite often geotextiles call also "geofabric".
Scope of the thermofastened geotextiles is landscape gardening works and road making. It perfectly copes with task of the organization of drain of water, protection of surface against plants and also serves as ideal substrate when laying paving slabs. As the filtering material use needled textiles, it easier also has significant amount of longitudinal and cross fibers which pass moisture, without losing durability and durability. Both types of geotextiles serve more than 25 years, at the same time the fulfilled product is safe for the environment, it decays slowly, but without collateral elements. Traditionally producers produce textiles in rolls up to 6 meters wide. Length of panel from 100 to 200 running meters, however, suppliers quite often pack material under needs of buyers.
