Grade of Vladimir cherry - the most often meeting in the territory of Russia. It was widespread in the Vladimir region where have begun to grow up these garden trees in the 16th century. For many years the grade has gained big variety of forms. Gardeners love this cherry for high productivity frost resistance and unpretentious leaving.
Description
Cherry Vladimir shrubby tree from 2 to 5 meters high. Bark on trunk and branches is painted in ash-gray color. The cherry krone extensive and spherical, has small amount of leaves. Yellowy-brown one-year branches are lowered down. Vegetative kidneys of the small size in the form of cone, generative kidneys of oval form. Medium-sized leaves of dark green color are sharpened since both ends, opaque and jagged at the edges. Inflorescences usually consist of 5-7 flowers. The beginning of blossoming – May.
Characteristic
Fruits of cherry have the thin skin of black-red color covered with gray dots. Pulp of dark red color juicy with sweet-sour taste. The size of fruits small or average, up to 3.5 g. Berries of ploskookrugly form, easily separate from fruit stem.
Fruits contain:
sugar up to 11%;
ascorbic acid of 25.5 mg / 100;
solid matter up to 16.5%;
1.5% free acids.
The imparted trees begin to fructify for 2-3 year. Maturing of berries happens in 60-65 days after blossoming. Berries ripen gradually, the berries which in time are not picked are inclined to fall. Productivity of 20-25 kg in one tree.
This grade well is suitable both for preparation of compotes and jam, and for drying and freezing for the winter.
Pollinators
The grade of this cherry belongs to self-fruitless. The pollinator – the cherry of other grade planted by row is necessary for emergence of berries. Such grades are suitable for pollination better: Turgenevka, Lyubskaya, Griot, Fertile Michurina, Vasilyevskaya, Consumer goods black.
Landing and leaving
For landing it is necessary to buy the imparted saplings with the developed root system. Reproduction by seeds or sprouts is possible. Landing should be made in the spring or in the fall, when jumping in the spring high probability that the tree will take root. For landing it is recommended to choose well lit heights or hills. Once the lowland avoids, hollows and northern slopes of hills. On plains, cherry will develop and fructify much later.
The soil has to be fertile, with small addition of sand. Under landing dig out hole up to 80 cm in depth. One third, the dug-out soil mix with humus, sand and mineral fertilizers, then fill up back in hole. Lower tree, cover remained with earth, doing small hill, condense and it is abundant water. Near tree we insert peg for support. Mulching by sawdust or humus is desirable until cherry takes root.

Begin to fertilize cherry in three years after landing. During the season, make 4 fertilizing: early in the spring, during blossoming and emergence of ovaries, after the last watering in the fall. Usually apply mineral fertilizers, ashes, manure, compost.
Regularly cut off krone: delete all dry and sick branches in the spring, cut off in the fall branches which do not fructify and thicken krone.
