Yablonny tsvetoyed, he is weevil, – one of widespread and artful wreckers of fruit-trees. Hordes of these bugs gnaw kidneys, and then and buds, depriving of gardeners of harvest. Most often they lodge on apple-trees, but at increase in population can damage also other fruit-trees.

The wrecker treats family of weevils. Length of his grayish-brown trunk is about 4.5-5 mm. Wing sheaths have slanting light strips. The tsvetoyed has proboscis which will be bent arch.
In winter time they live in bark cracks, under fallen leaves or hide in hollows. With arrival of spring and heat yablonny tsvetoyed gets out of shelter and goes straight to branches of trees. At first their main food reserve – just arisen kidneys. Bugs dexterously make in them narrow deepenings. Activity of tsvetoyed is visible almost at once with the naked eye: on kidneys sticky droplets of juice which sparkle in the sun begin to appear. Gardeners call it "crying of kidneys".
Reproduction of bug-tsvetoyeda
To conduct effective fight against the wrecker, it is necessary to know mechanisms of its reproduction. At weevil it occurs during budding of fruit-trees. Females eat away in buds the courses for otkladka of eggs. One individual is capable to postpone until 60 pieces. The hatched bugs I eat away buds from within, sticking together waste products unblown lobes.
Later time the buds dry up and do not reveal, and on their tip peculiar cap of dark color appears. If to open it, in flower it is possible to consider gray-white curved larva or already doll. After blossoming from them bugs appear. At first they eat foliage, making in it holes. Later tsvetoyed it is settled on all garden.
How to secure the site against yablonny tsvetoyed
It is necessary to combat this wrecker not only in the spring, during its activity, but also throughout all season. Only actions will bring lasting effect.
Use trap belts. Fix them at the basis or on tree trunk. Make it before blooming of kidneys. Place the got wreckers in bucket with salt water, and burn trap belt after use.
Mechanical ways of fight with tsvetoyedy to very few people are pleasant, but they bring good result. During swelling and blooming of kidneys you are not lazy to shake wreckers. For this purpose enclose film under tree and well shake it. Adult individuals by all means will fall. You carry out the procedure early in the morning when on the street it is not higher than +10 wasps. At more high temperature the wreckers will just scatter. The fallen-down tsvetodoyed surely destroy.
Before swelling of kidneys whitewash trunks lime. It is noticed what tsvetoyed with reluctance occupies the fruit-trees processed in such a way.
If population of tsvetoyed continues to grow, use chemical measures of fight. Spray trees with such structures as "Gold spark", "Carbophos", Fufanon. Manage to conduct "chemical attack" until uncovering of buds. Otherwise bugs will lay eggs inside, having become after that impregnable.
Do not forget about prevention. In due time look after apple-trees – you loosen the earth in pristvolny circles, collect fallen leaves, you carry out sanitary cutting. These measures allow to reduce the number of tsvetoyed many times.
Attract birds on the site. For this purpose hang out birdhouses on apple-trees. Insectivorous birds provide substantial assistance in reduction of population of yablonny tsvetoyed and other wreckers without additional actions.
