Quite often on landings of onions it is possible to see the appeared arrows. It is consequence of the wrong storage sevka during the winter period. To avoid such situation next year, it is necessary to observe the mode of temperature and humidity at storage of planting stock.

Pilferers with a diameter from 1.5 to 2.5 cm can be stored in the warm way and cold. At warm storage the humidity has to be about 65%, and air temperature - from 18 to 25 degrees. At cold storage temperature is maintained near minus 1-3 degrees, and air humidity has to correspond to 80-90%. As a result, the plants which are grown up from sevka, stored in such ways, do not throw out arrows, the crop turns out rather big and excellent quality.
For onions of sharp grades it is possible to use cold and warm method of storage. Its principle consists in the following: after harvesting of pilferers well dry and store at temperature from 19 to 25 degrees. The humidity at the same time has to be within 55-70%. The same conditions are created also for storage sevka in the spring, and during the winter period the storage conditions of onions change. The planting stock is moved in the room with temperature from - 1 up to-3 degrees, and the humidity is increased to 85%. In such conditions of pilferers it is better stored, and the plants which are grown up from them do not give arrows.
At acquisition the sevka in shops, is recommended to warm up it at temperature of 25-30 degrees within 2-3 weeks before landing. In house conditions it is convenient to do it on the battery. For this purpose pilferers are filled on wooden tray and put it on the battery. The layer of onions has to be no more than 3 see. Such way of preparation the sevka to landing considerably reduces ability of onions to strelkovaniye.
Unfortunately, despite all taken measures, the strelkovaniye of onions is sometimes observed. In this case it is recommended to break out arrows while they are in embryo. It is better to use those plants which shooters continue to give first of all. Good healthy bulbs from them will not turn out and they will be badly stored.
Small pilferers, in total about 1 cm in the diameter, stored at any temperature, the shooter and therefore does not give further, it is recommended to subwinter crops. To keep such small onions during the whole winter quite difficult, it is better to use only cold storage technique, at warm they most often dry out.
