How to calculate lining

How to calculate lining

Lining – popular finishing material which can be used both for external, and for the internal flat surfaces of the room. As for types of lining, it can be wooden and plastic. However whatever beautiful was the distillation if not to execute the correct calculation of this finishing material, disappointments as it will not be possible to reach desirable registration of the room are inevitable.

It is required to you

  • — tape measure;
  • — calculator.

Instruction

1. Measure length, width and height of floor-to-ceiling which will be sheathed by lining.

2. Measure length and width of material and also board thickness. Let's say length of wooden lining is 6000 mm, width – 95 mm, and thickness – the 2nd centimeter. The area of one such part is 0.57 square meters, and volume – 0.0114 cubic meters.

3. Divide the area of walls (the area is by multiplication of length by width) into 0.57, that is, the area of one lining. Naturally, such calculations mean that all lining will be used without the rest, however in real life of it does not happen. So, correct the received size for 10-15 percent (in case of defects, waste and other defects). The result allows to define amount of necessary lining in pieces.

4. Increase amount of necessary lining in pieces by 0.0114 and receive the calculated size in cubic meters.

5. Similar calculation is convenient only when length of wall is multiple to length of one stick of lining. For example, length of wall is 3 meters, and get-in length – 6 meters. That is, in this case lining is cut in half: the received length just also corresponds to room length. Besides, now it is possible to buy lining of length necessary to you in the construction market that considerably will reduce waste.
