How to calculate losses of the electric power

Modern counters of the electric power are capable not only to execute its accounting, but also have opportunities for implementation of number of additional functions. However number of the formulas considering all possible fluctuations in supply of electricity is still applied to ensuring optimum accuracy of calculations.

Instruction

1. Use evaluation calculation procedure on the total length of networks which though is not accuracy sample, but is quite simple in application. Apply the formulas for calculation specified in the latest revision of "The instruction on technology decrease in electrical energy". Pay attention: taking into account that in large part power lines there are unsolderings, it is possible to calculate losses only to the first of them.

2. Find out whether it is necessary to enter into the counter the instruction on correction of calculation at the current change of the mode of works or it is already considered in the program. You should not enter constants on losses of the electric power into the counter as real losses can exceed set values.

3. Execute the correction on the actual temperature of wires as their resistance depends on it directly (calculations for temperature in 20 °C are specified in GOST).

4. Calculate excess of temperature of wire concerning ambient temperature depending on average current density for the rated period.

5. Make corrections on working and test temperatures at their factory testing for various types of transformers (with aluminum or copper windings).

6. Reveal features of accounting of losses in the transformer with obligatory accounting of the place of its shutdown. If it can be disconnected from any party, it is necessary to make operational accounting of the place of shutdown in order that it is correct to calculate losses.

7. Consider time factor when calculating losses. Use for this purpose the following coefficients (especially in case you are going to count energy losses only once a day): - loadings; - production schedule forms; - accounting of interchangeability of works of the acting consumers.
