If the door lock began to work badly, not obligatory to change it entirely at all. Quite perhaps, only the larva is worn-out in it. In this case, it is enough to replace only of it, and the lock will work as new again.
Instruction
1. Make sure that the larva really needs replacement. Perhaps, it needs to be greased only. For this purpose take key, dip it into lubricating oil, insert into the lock and scroll several times. If it began to rotate smoothly, so the problem is fixed.
2. If lubricant of the lock has not helped, the larva should be replaced. At box lock unscrew the middle screw located parallel to larva on edge pad. Insert key and turn it in such situation in which the mechanism can be removed. Take it. Keep the screw.
3. The scarf should be removed from door. Having made it, turn off two screws fixing larva to lock housing, and remove it. Also keep these screws.
4. Take the removed larva in household shop, having put at door of the assistant who will be on duty until it is open. If it is impossible, make so: photograph the mechanism near ruler then install it into place. If box lock, screw the central screw and if the consignment note, establish it on door. In shop take phone or the camera with the photo of larva, or the printout of this photo.
5. Ask the seller to pick up in exchange to lichnik, released the checked producer. Surely ask of what material the mechanism is made. If it siluminovy, refuse purchase and go to other shop.
6. Having got and having brought home larva, remove old if it still is in the lock. If box lock, turn key in the situation allowing to insert the mechanism into opening insert it there then fix by the central screw in edge pad. Fasten larva to scarf two screws, and then establish it on door.
7. Make sure that the lock normally works, without closing door. After that close and several times lock and unlock it. Now the lock can use. That the new larva has served long, handle it accurately. Do not make great efforts at insert, extraction and turn of key. Regularly grease the mechanism in the way, described in step 1. Never grease the lock in other ways (for example, by oil flooding directly to the well).
