The fire extinguishers put into operation have to be exposed to periodic check and technical maintenance. It is necessary for maintenance of the fire extinguisher in constant readiness for operation and for ensuring reliable work of nodes of the device. Service of the fire extinguisher includes its check, survey, repair, tests and recharge.
Instruction
1. Inspection of the fire extinguisher is carried out according to the operating manual the person who is designated by the order on the organization which has undergone training and testing regarding knowledge of the device of the fire extinguisher and normative and technical documents of its operation.
2. Before introduction of the fire extinguisher to system carry out initial inspection: examine exterior of the device, check complete set, condition of installation site, including possibility of free access to the fire extinguisher.
3. At survey pay attention to availability of chips, dents, scratches on the body, nuts and head of the fire extinguisher. Check condition of protecting cover. The instruction to the fire extinguisher has to be accurate and clear. The safety device has to be sealed.
4. If the design of the fire extinguisher has provided the manometer or the pressure indicator, check its serviceability, availability of brand, pressure size in gas cylinder.
5. Check the mass of the fire extinguisher, condition of flexible hose and also the spray. On them there should not be traces of corrosion, pollution, objects interfering normal operation of the fire extinguisher.
6. Check condition of running gear of the mobile fire extinguisher and reliability of fastening of its body. The portable fire extinguisher has to be reliably fixed on wall or in fire cabinet.
7. By results of check make marks in the passport of the fire extinguisher, assign it serial number which apply on the body of the device and write down in the log-book of fire extinguishers.
8. At annual check of the fire extinguisher perform external inspection of the fire extinguisher and also survey of installation site and approach to it. Perhaps selective opening of fire extinguishers for assessment of condition of filters and check of parameters of fire extinguishing substance. In case of discrepancy of parameters with requirements of normative documents remove the causes of deviations and recharge the fire extinguisher.
