Types of searchlights

Luminous source in sodium searchlights are high-pressure sodium gas discharge lamps. In the course of gas discharge the shining heat arises in sodium vapors that results in monochromaticity of radiation. The luminous source in LED searchlights consists of ecologically safe LEDs which are not containing components with mercury. Experts do not recommend to buy the first searchlight, and at first to estimate work of its type of lamp which is priority when choosing this illumination device.
What searchlight is better
Halogen searchlights have great luminous efficiency and color rendition and also purposeful illumination of certain zone of the yard. They differ in high performance, are made of red-hot glass and without problems work at high temperature. Sodium devices provide bright yellow-orange light at the expense of the prevailing sodium radiation, however give unsatisfactory color rendition when lighting. Advantage of sodium searchlights is their universality allowing to combine the device with other luminous sources. Searchlights with weak color rendition are usually used for illumination of industrial buildings or street lighting. Metalhalogen devices give cold bright light and possess high color rendition / luminous efficiency. They are very reliable due to resistance to differences of tension and also security from dust and moisture therefore metalhalogen lamps are ideal for lighting of the yard. However the most qualitative option are LED searchlights which are completely made of strong and quality durable materials. They provide precisely directed light stream, are instantly lit and steadily work even at low tension of network.
