Eggplants are plant, annual, thermophilic and exacting to moisture and light, which is so popular among summer residents. It breeds seeds therefore success of cultivation of culture depends on correctness of the choice of sowing material.

Instruction

1. There is set of grades of eggplants therefore important to choose those seeds which as much as possible suit you. This vegetable culture has different terms of maturing: distinguish early, average and late-ripening grades. So, at favorable weather conditions it is possible to grow up different grades, and here with severe climate it is necessary to give preference in regions to early ripening varieties which during short period will manage to ripen and please you with the rich harvest. "Amethyst", Robin Hood carry Maria, "Belief", etc. to early ripening varieties. From emergence of the first shoots before maturing of harvest there can pass 90-115 days. Distinguish from mid-season grades "Dolphin", Almaz and "Pelican" (the crop is reaped after 110-120 days after emergence of shoots). Late grades: "Dandy" and "Bull forehead" (harvest in 140-150 days after landing).

2. In fruit form the eggplants can be long ("Banana", "Pelican", Maria), pear-shaped form ("Hippopotamus", "Albatross" and Vikar) and also roundish ("Sancho Panso" and "The black moon"). Besides eggplants can be striped or monophonic and differ in color of fruits: brownish, dark-violet, white, light-violet, dark green and even orange. These features should be considered when choosing sowing material.

3. Besides, when choosing seeds of eggplants consider the desirable mass of fruits. For example, fruits of "Black buta" reach 900 g, and grade eggplants "Afghan early" absolutely tiny (the weight of fruits varies from 50 to 60 g). But it is only separate grades, the weight of eggplants averages 200-300 g.

4. The chosen seeds of eggplants before landing should be checked for viability. For this purpose place 10 seeds in rag sack, then lower it for 20-23 hours in warm water. Then sowing material is got from sack and left for 4-5 days in the warm room, periodically moistening with water gauze on which seeds are spread out. Even if from 10 seeds has sprouted only 5 it means that sowing material qualitative and it can be used safely.
