1. One of modern methods which will help you to cope with this task is the special pencil which is intended for cleaning of sole of the iron from deposit. It is possible to buy it in household shop. It is easy and convenient to use it. Warm the iron, rub its sole with pencil and wait, pollution on surface will begin to melt. After that wipe sole with dry rag and let's the iron cool down. Then wash it with clear water to wash away the remains of chemical reaction from sole surface. At contact of pencil and the hot iron the pungent unpleasant smell - sal ammoniac evaporation is formed. Try to follow safety rules, do not forget to wash up hands after you finish work.
2. To clean the iron, it is possible to use old method. Fill the big mound of salt of fine crushing on the newspaper and carry out by the iron as though you iron. Try to press stronger the iron that salt was squeezed out from under sole, and the iron concerned the newspaper.
