The wood fireplace in country house creates the unique atmosphere of cosiness and tranquility. Of course, you should not believe that there will be enough power of fireplace for full heating of all rooms, but it will be able quite to warm up the room in winter frost. Starting construction of fireplace the hands, it is necessary to think over carefully its design and to observe technology of laying.

Instruction
1. For a start represent the sketch of future fireplace which will become basis for more detailed drawing on the sheet of paper. Use as starting point ready schemes of fireplaces which can be found in the editions devoted to country individual construction. On scaled paper draw fireplace in three projections and general lay-out of each brick-on-edge course (so-called poryadovka).
2. Choose materials for fireplace construction. The efficiency and durability of heating system will depend on their quality. Most the stone sandstone and refractory brick are suitable for production of fireplace. Minor elements of external finishing can be made of tree, gypsum cardboard or polyurethane.
3. Selecting bricks, examine each of them, trying to do not pass elements with defects, unsuitable for laying. The qualitative brick has equal orange-red color, and at blow to it the hammer makes clear sound. Construction theof hands of fireplace of mean value will require not less than 250 bricks. High-quality laying of bricks requires the binding solution consisting of refractory clay, sand and cement.
4. Make the base for fireplace, having dug on its perimeter ditch depth about half a meter. Lay layer from stones on bottom of ditch or beaten brick, carefully having stamped it. Flood the base with concrete and level on level. After drying of solution lay roofing material layer on the base – it will perform function of waterproofing.
5. On the prepared base execute exact marking of future basis of fireplace, being guided by the sizes specified on the drawing. Begin to spread bricks dry, without solution. Carefully select separate elements that they approached to each other. Be verified at the same time with general lay-out of bricks in laying. After grinding in and adjustment sort design and consistently lay bricks ranks already with use of binding solution.
6. Upon termination of the calculation of the main design execute flue laying. Having laid each three rows, wipe inside face of design with the damp rags, the wetted in weak clay mortar. It will allow to achieve the smooth surface of flue necessary for full conclusion from fireplace of products of burning.
7. Establish metal elements of heating system on the places: latch, grid-iron, frame of chimney fire chamber. It is possible to fix these elements with use of fittings or just on normal solution.
8. Execute external finishing of fireplace. It is quite possible to leave qualitative brick without facing, having made only finish of seams. Remember that the normal ceramic tile should not be used for facing of fireplace as it can be showered under the influence of high temperature. It is the best of all to revet fireplace with artificial stone or to use fire-resistant tiles for finishing. Finally establish the accessories facilitating service of fireplace: broom, chimney nippers, scoop, the protective shield, support for firewood.
