1. Some gardeners select the largest chestnuts and at once dig in them to the earth on depth about five centimeters. It is better to look for fallen down and some time the nuts which have lain under the "main" tree for a long time. At chestnut fruits thin peel, they easily crack on several parts and at once begin to sprout. The soil for their landing should not be very damp. The chestnut loves sand and loam.
2. It is possible to put chestnuts under the open sky at once, to cover with fallen leaves and to press slightly. It is desirable to bring a little soil from that place where seeds have been collected (top layer – no more than 1 cm), - so trees will quicker take root. Landing nuts in the fresh air, it is necessary to take care of protection against rodents who can dig out seeds or pick young plants.
3. It is possible to place at first nuts in pot in which to the earth damp sand or steam-seasoned sawdust are mixed, and for several days to put capacity to the cool place (it is possible even in the fridge, - but not in the freezing chamber). Then it is worth putting pot with chestnuts on windowsill and to water in process of drying of the soil. As soon as at chestnuts 2 – 3 leaves are formed, they should be passed with lump of the earth in pot of bigger volume or in garden. At the same time roots can be cut a little. It is necessary to replace very carefully, chestnuts are sensitive to change of the place.
4. Nuts sprout and last up very quickly. It is the best of all to place chestnuts in five meters from each other on the spacious solar sites protected from wind. Time in two – is required to water and fertilize three years trees in due time.
