Control of expenditure of the electric power in the house carries out the electric counter. When does need to make it independently arise? For example, you hand over in tenancy to several users, and the counter is installed the general. In this case you need to separate electricity cost into them in proportion to power consumption. Or it is necessary to count load of network for the correct selection of electric energy source in newly-built country house. At last, it is necessary to check whether your counter correctly works.

1. For accounting of the consumed electric power make the table. Include everything in it electroconsumers – computers, printers, scanners (office equipment), lighting devices, household appliances (the microwave, the fridge, the electric kettle or the coffee maker). Power consumption of all listed devices is known, define operating time by practical consideration. If it is several users, arrange them in separate columns. Increase the power of each electric device in kW by time of its work in hours (per day). As a result you define consumption of energy (kW/hour per day). Having increased the received digit by the number of the working days in month, receive the power consumed in month by each user. Create the table in Excel, supply it with the simplest formulas on lines (consumers) and columns (users). In such look it is easy to fill and correct it if necessary. Now divide electric power cost between users – in percentage from the general consumption.
2. If there was need to define costs of the electric power in your country house, make calculation as it is described above. Here the most expensive article of expense of the electric power will be added – on heating of the building and on hot-water supply. 2 additional lines – electric boiler and the water heater will be added to the table. Choose boiler type at the rate of the volume of the heated room and possible lowest air temperatures. As boiler define, and write down in the table its power, operating time within a day and the number of days in month. Make similar work on the water heater. Having increased the received digit of costs of energy of the price of one kW/hour, receive electric power expense in terms of money. It is necessary to count costs of acquisition and service of electric energy source (the power line to the nearest substation, the diesel generator, the solar battery or the wind-driven generator with additional converters, accumulators). Choose suitable source and use it for supply with electricity of the house.
3. And at last, need of calculation arises in case you doubt indications of the electric meter. Count electric power expense as it is described above and compare to digits on the counter. If doubts remained, check correctness of operation of the electroinduction counter. For this purpose disconnect everything electroconsumers in the house, having left one 100 W bulb. Take hours with second hand and note time of rotation of disk. If the disk does one turn in 1 minute, and after shutdown of bulb the disk stops and does not rotate any more – the counter is serviceable.
