How to count total structural volume

How to count total structural volume

Determination of total structural volumes is necessary for calculation of project cost. The sheet according to the estimates of amounts of works is the main document when determining estimated cost of all construction. As to count total structural volume?

Instruction

1. For drawing up sheets of amounts of works use normative documents and also technical reference books, instructions and other technical documentation. Calculations of works are recommended to be organized on the checked schemes which visually represent the course of calculations and also completely the sequence of their production. For this purpose certain rules will approach.

2. Determine the total structural volume of the basement, multiplying the area of cut of the basement at the level of the first floor across, measuring above socle on height from floor height to the same floor height from the first floor. If the basement is built in the building without device of walls over it, calculate the area on external inking of walls at the level of overlapping over the basement.

3. Determine the total structural volume of the upper, land part of the house with garret overlapping, multiplying the area of horizontal section on external inking of the building (considering thickness of facing, plaster) in the level of the first floor above socle by all height of the building which is measured from floor height from the first floor to the very top of heater on garret overlapping.

4. To determine the volume of land part of the house without garret overlapping, increase the area of cross vertical section by the building length which measure between outer surfaces of opposite face walls in the direction perpendicular to area of cut at the level of the first floor is higher than socle. Count this area of cut contour on outer surface of walls, and considering the top outlines of roof and level of clean floor from the first floor.

5. If in the building there are acting parts and niches, then at measurement of cross-section they are not considered. If floors have the different area, then determine the volume of the building as the sum of volumes of its parts. Besides, separately count volumes of separate parts of the building if they considerably differ in the form. In such cases consider limitor wall in that part to which it corresponds on design or height.

6. Determine the total structural volume of the building with the basement as the sum of volumes of basement and land parts.

7. Consider that the volume of verandah, bay window and other parts which increase its net volume needs to be counted separately and to include in total amount. Do not include volumes of porticoes and open balconies only in building volume.
