Benjamin's ficus is in huge demand among flower growers. It is one of the finest ornamental plants used for creation of amazing interior. At appropriate care Benjamin's ficus can grow in the house many years, but there is one important condition – the plant needs to be cut off correctly.

Instruction
1. Carry out cutting of ficus if the plant has grown too big and to replace its location there is no opportunity or if the decorative tree has very much expanded because of what became branchy and unattractive. During cutting try to keep natural form of ficus of Benjamin, that is it has to look so as if the human hand did not touch it.
2. Try to present on each stage of cutting mentally ornamental plant without branch which was going to be cut off. If there is opportunity, accurately take branch aside and make sure that without it the ficus will really look better. In a word, you do not hurry to cut off superfluous, in your opinion, branches.
3. You make cutting of ficus the sterile tool, without tearing off at the same time bark and without unscrewing branch. Clean cuts will drag on rather and the risk that the plant will be infected, will become less.
4. It is necessary to cut off branches from outer edge of crest (it is bark outgrowth) to ring flow (the lower, tightened bark area). And the cut needs to be carried out at an angle to the upper edge. Thanks to such undercutting the harm will not be done to bark of the main branch.
5. You make cutting of ficus of Benjamin before the active growth of this plant begins. In most cases this procedure is performed in the spring, however there are also exceptions to the rules (some plants after hibernation "wake up" earlier, and others – later than usual). The main sign that the ficus needs to be cut - the plant has released green escapes with young, gentle leaflets.
6. Delete too thickened branches intertwining and competing with the main trunk of branch and also those branches which growth breaks exterior of ficus. Too extended branches can be truncated, having executed cutting to kidney or branching. It will allow to betray to branch the desirable direction of growth: it will be extended in the direction of the last leaf.
