The citrus which is grown up in the apartment, for a long time for anybody not news. Most often houses grow up lemon. That it bore every year to you fruits, it needs to be cut off and deleted periodically old branches. But if ineptly to cut off tree, then it will weaken and will not bear fruits.

1. By the end of the ripening cut off escape of zero order at the height of 15-20 cm, having left 4 developed kidneys of which 3-4 main escapes have to be formed further. Vertical escape is called zero. When escapes of the first order (main) reach length of 20-30 cm, prishchipyvat them. For this purpose it is necessary to pinch off the tip of sprout.
2. When escapes of the second order grow, cut off them at the length of 20-25 cm. Cut off the subsequent sprouts 5 cm well than previous. Approximately on the fourth order of escapes the forming of krone comes to an end. As a rule, from escapes of the fourth order the tree begins to fructify.
3. That the tree of lemon did not grow with old and unnecessary branches, carry out cutting regularly. Strong escapes need to be shortened, and the old and growing inside kroner – to delete. Either remove vertically growing escapes which do not fructify (fat escapes), or cut off up to 20-25 cm that they have begun to yield fruits.
4. Regularly rejuvenate old trees. For this purpose shortly cut off the weakened branches to cause growth of new escapes. Gradually cutting off and feeding up old tree, you prolong its fructification.
5. Cut off lemon in the spring, in March, still before it begins to start up escapes. It is possible to thin out krone also in the winter, after removal of fruits from tree a little. If you want to improve fructification of lemon next year, it is the best of all to make autumn and winter cutting. That the lemon bore fruits every year, together with cutting and nipping of escapes it is necessary to delete part of flowers. From their surplus the tree is exhausted, the quantity of ovary from which fruits will turn out further decreases. The more barren flowers you remove, the more will remain on tree of useful ovary.
