For any owner of the country site the design of own garden is important and fascinating point. Some make one general and important mistake – start planning of the garden how the house is built. And actually planning has to be made still before construction has begun. Differently you can appear in situation when the turned-out site is inconvenient, on it the space is irrationally used, or, for example, you have allocated the place which will always be in shadow for flower bed.

1. The first rule – still before any construction has begun, study the territory. It is very important to orient on parts of the world, to understand how lighting of your site within a day will change, to find out what soil and relief, from where and where flows water. Silly will be to create artificial reservoir on the high place, and to design the house where rain waters will gather.
2. Only after that it is possible to start design of the site. Break the territory into functional zones, each of which will be connected by paths. For example, plan the place where you are going to build the house where there will be gazebo, the shed for storage of garden tools and the equipment where there will be flower bed, the Alpine hill, fruit-trees, perhaps, beds with strawberry or greens.
3. Proceeding from the made plan, it is necessary to lay at once the scheme of irrigational constructions – ditches in which there will be pipes, the taking-away excess water from the site. If not to make it, then further you can face big problems.
4. At the same stage think over where and as there will pass the engineering systems providing lighting of the site and also allowing to connect the various equipment, for example, the pump for artificial pond.
5. Planning zones of the site, you remember that the closed and open areas should be alternated and connected by the system of paths. If not to make it, then it is possible to appear unexpectedly then on country farmstead where at once near the house farm buildings, greenhouses and gazebos are located, and somewhere absolutely in other party – big empty space of lawn which is not visible from porch. Therefore it is necessary to think over proportions, being agreed both with convenience, and with esthetics.
6. In advance define what type or style of garden you want to receive – both its design, and the choice of plants depends on it. Study plants which are pleasant to you – whether will leave so that the fir-tree planted under window or sapling in three years will shoot up in strong tree and will close to you light in the house, and the fern which you have decided to plant on open space does not take out direct sunshine.
