How to feed up violets

How to feed up violets

Violets are quite often called queens of window plants. African violets, or saintpaulias, thousands of grades are removed now, and this list continuously is replenished.

Instruction

1. It is desirable to feed up violets during the spring and summer period. At the same time the simple rule works - only healthy plants feed up, it is necessary to do it right after watering. Saintpaulias of terry grades feed up time in 10 days, and unary - every two weeks. Concentration of solution for fertilizing has to make no more than 0.4-0.7 g of fertilizer on water liter, it is approximately twice weaker, than for other plants. For summer of violet it is possible to feed up mullein, having taken 200-300 g of manure on water liter. There it is possible to add copper vitriol, about a gram. If feed up bird's dung, then take it on 10 l of water of 50 g. With violets it is better to underfeed, than to feed up superfluous. In order that violets were stronger and better blossomed, it is possible to use Epin, having dissolved one ampoule in 5 l of water. It is possible not only to water with this solution the earth, but also to spray plants, having chosen the smallest nozzle on spray. Violets love humid air, but from cold drops on leaves can ache.

2. To achieve smart blossoming of violets, experienced flower growers recommend to use potash fertilizer. Apply fertilizers on nitric basis to receiving the magnificent socket, big leaves and great number of children. Accelerate blossoming as well phosphoric fertilizing, especially in complex with rise of temperature and increase in light. For saintpaulia special fluorescent lamps of red range are used. And to delay blossoming, for example, in connection with some certain date, it is possible if to place violet in more cool atmosphere, on illumination having taken lamps blue or daylight. Some experiments have shown that violet it is possible to feed up twice less, than it is recommended, or not to feed up absolutely, and instead more often to replace in new soil, receiving great results of growth and blossoming. What way will be the best, in advance it is impossible to tell as each collector has preferences.

3. It is necessary to remember also that differently the violet growing on rack with illumination and the violet standing on windowsill will react to fertilizing absolutely. The humidity, air temperature and lighting all the same slightly differ in different apartments therefore each flower grower has to find out optimum way of fertilizer and fertilizing by practical consideration. Experienced flower growers have noted interesting effect which extra root fertilizing (spraying) gives: leaves at such violets very quickly lose ability to rooting. In all attempts to multiply such violet leaves they just perish.
