How to fertilize ammonium sulfate

How to fertilize ammonium sulfate

Sulfate of ammonium differs from other nitrogen fertilizers in what contains sulfur. Cera takes the important place in activity of plants. It is the leading biogenous element after nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

It is required to you

  • - ammonium sulfate;
  • - chalk;
  • - liquid fertilizers.

Instruction

1. Ammonium sulfate as fertilizer, frequencies remains underestimated as it does not influence the size and quantity of vegetable products. But this fertilizer has great influence on quality of vegetables. Sulfur is constituent part of proteins, this element is present at irreplaceable amino acids and vegetable oils. Sulfur activates enzymes in proteinaceous exchange and regulates the oxidation-reduction processes happening in plants. The lack of sulfur breaks nitric exchange, delays synthesis of proteins and amino acids. Plants slow down development, stalks are extended, the size of leaves decreases and they get pale coloring.

2. The best source of completion of lack of sulfur is ammonium sulfate. Besides, this fertilizer is cheaper. If to consider on units of active ingredient, nitrogen cost as a part of sulfate of ammonium is twice lower, than its cost in carbamide or ammonium nitrate. Sulfate of ammonium is applied on all types of soils, but on sour soils the lime application has to be carried out. It is used also for various cultures. These are grain and olive, root crops, all vegetables and melon. Ammonium sulfate is necessary for cabbage, potatoes, beet, carrots, sunflower, tomatoes, pumpkin, watermelon, garden radish, radish, turnip, squash, sorrel and parsley. Also sulfate of ammonium it is good to fertilize gooseberry and raspberry.

3. Ammonium sulfate – mineral nitrogen-sulfur fertilizer – represents light crystals of salt of pinkish or yellowish color which are well dissolved in water. It can be stored within five years, is not explosive and is not hygroscopic. The nitrogen which is contained in ammonium sulfate in ammonium form is completely acquired by plants and not washed away from the soil.

4. Sulfate of ammonium is used as the main fertilizer. On heavy soils they can fertilize both in the spring, and in the fall. But fertilizer shows the best results at introduction under spring redigging of the soil. One of the most effective methods of application of sulfate of ammonium is its entering into the soil into mixes with chalk or ground limestone – 1.2 kg of chalk on 1 kg of sulfate of ammonium. During the vegetative period of plant it is possible to feed up solution of sulfate of ammonium or to add it to liquid nitrogen fertilizers.

5. Need of vegetable cultures for ammonium sulfate: – cabbage – 60 g/m²;– carrots – 30 g/m²;– garden radish, radish, turnip – 30 g/m²– sorrel and parsley – 40 g/m²;– pumpkin and squash – 40 g/m²;– tomatoes and potatoes – 30-45 g/m²;– gooseberry and raspberry – 50-60 g/m².
