How to find overload

Unlike the short circuit representing the real accident, overload consequences in network of power supply are visible not at once: they can be shown only a time later. The overload can be caused by internal and external causes therefore it is necessary to find it as soon as possible.

Instruction

1. The overload in electrical wiring can arise in case loading in network exceeds rated indicators. The reason for that – the mains lead is not capable to pass more current, than that quantity on which it is designed.

2. Make sure of compliance of the chosen wire to expected loading. For example, the copper mains lead with area with a section of 1.5 mm2 is calculated on current intensity in 15 amperes. At the same time this wire has to be surely protected by the special time cut-out on 15A. Availability of such protection will prevent emergence of short circuit and, as a result, the fire: if loading more put is given, then the time cut-out which will power off electrical wiring will work.

3. If the time cut-out has often begun to work, do not draw hasty conclusion, considering that it has failed. Perhaps, this element is not broken at all, and regularly performs the work. To come to the correct conclusion, execute approximate calculation of loading which is created by the devices connected in the power supply network. Perhaps, the electrical wiring is really overloaded.

4. The old wiring which long ago has got rid of the term can be the cause of frequent operation of the time cut-out. As a rule, isolation of such network is not capable to perform qualitatively any more the functions because of what there is overload and even podkorachivaniye. For correction of similar situation disconnect those devices which you do not use from the power supply network: it will reduce load of network and will nullify emergence of overload.

5. To find the overload reason if the wire corresponds to all parameters of network, switch-off at first all electric devices in the house.

6. Then gradually include one by one, in particular those which are included in network constantly. If the time cut-out works at turning on of any device, you will find weak part of electrical wiring. Perhaps, that will be required to be replaced (depending on its state) or to connect devices in other sockets more evenly to distribute loading.
