The sofa is, perhaps, major piece of furniture in any house. Having been located on it, it is possible to watch TV, to read the magazine or just to have a rest after work. Unfortunately, over time under the influence of many factors the upholstery of sofa loses the attractive look and needs replacement. It is possible to get along with this hard case independently, it is enough to have a little free time and all necessary tools.
It is required to you
- - fabric for upholstery;
- - round-nose pliers;
- - flat blade screwdriver;
- - wallpaper knife;
- - sintepon or cotton batting;
- - foam rubber;
- - construction stapler;
- - dense fabric.
Instruction
1. For a start sort the sofa on the making elements, disconnect from it armrests and remove pillows. After that remove old upholstery from sofa, unfastening it in places of connections. For dredging of brackets use round-nose pliers and flat blade screwdriver. Hook bracket by means of the screw-driver and take out round-nose pliers. After the upholstery is unfastened, pull together it. Try to do it as it is possible more accurately not to tear fabric as it is useful for pattern of new upholstery.
2. Surely look in what state there is stuffing of sofa, and check the spring block. If necessary replace the damaged springs. If you decide to replace packing material, completely remove it from all elements. Attentively examine them and remove all remained fragments of old material and bracket.
3. Now start laying of new filler. Take sintepon or cotton batting, lay them on element of sofa and fix by the stapler. From above fit everything dense fabric. If you want to give to rotundity sofa, use foam rubber, 20-40 mm thick. Lay it on floor and from above put one of sofa elements outer end down. By means of wallpaper knife make pattern. At the same time surely leave small allowance (about 80 mm).
4. As soon as all patterns are ready, accurately pull foam rubber on face side of part and fix it from the inside, using the construction stapler. From above fit parts dense fabric so that it has completely closed foam rubber.
5. Using old upholstery as template, make patterns of new fabric. Be attentive not to mix the right side of the cloth from back. After that sew them and begin to dress on sofa part. Try to pull well fabric, fixing it below by the stapler. On completion of work collect sofa.
